About the role

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest is searching for a Medical Assistant III for our Riverside Health Center. The Medical Assistant supports the delivery of reproductive health care services under the medical supervision of Clinicians and Physicians. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting clients by providing testing, screening, and education required for medical reproductive health care.
  • Aiding providers to ensure high-quality, efficient care delivery.
  • Screens clients, prepares exam rooms, and covers the front office as needed.
  • Providing excellent customer service in a non-judgmental, empathetic manner.

Responsibilities

  • Adhering to affiliate goals and policies on professionalism, wait times, and client complaint handling.
  • Participating in health center efforts to achieve productivity and quality metrics.
  • Assisting with health center/affiliate revenue cycle goals.
  • Performing and coordinating back-office functions such as obtaining medical histories, interviewing clients, performing lab work, and assisting providers.
  • Maintaining accurate client information in the Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with Patient Flow Coordinator, Center Manager, and other center staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or Surgical Technician program and 1-year comparable surgical back office experience, or 3 years comparable clinical back office experience.
  • Experience in ambulatory or outpatient medical-surgical or specialty areas preferred.
  • Women’s health experience preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
