Job Summary

About the Role

The MA III performs administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records under the direct supervision of a supervisor or provider. Clinical duties include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics or medical information, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. This position involves the administration of medications.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of a formal MA training program that includes pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and a clinical externship
• No prior experience required, but preferred are previous experience in direct contact with people and experience in a health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting
• Certification or registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team, proficiency in computer skills, and the ability to carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider.
