Primary Responsibilities
- Maintains a higher degree of technical expertise and serves as a role model to Medical Assistant I's
- Manages patient flow, access and scheduling for clinicians to optimize availability and supports one or more clinicians
- Determines urgency and priority of walk-ins, add-on patients and patient consults, and coordinates practice when clinicians are unavailable
- Sorts, manages and reviews clinician mail, maintains and screens MyHealth messages, and addresses incoming questions when appropriate
- Maintains and resolves concerns regarding patient satisfaction, patient flow, and compliance with procedures and guidelines
- Identifies and assists in resolving patient concerns and operational difficulties, and informs supervisor of outstanding issues
- Handles patients and third-party requests for documentation of medical information, such as health status, worker's compensation related care, and return to work authorizations
- Completes forms needed for visits and submits to MD for review, verifies prior authorizations, and trains and/or orients new staff as needed
- Serves as departmental float position rotating among departments, representing department on groups and teams related to upgrades of the electronic medical record
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience acquired through 3+ years in a clinical setting with at least one as a Medical Assistant (a Bachelor's or Associate Degree may be substituted for one year of experience)
- ACLS certification
Preferred Qualification
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
Pay and Benefits
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.22 to $31.43 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
