Medical Assistant- HK - Working Fit - FT - Shift 1

Responsibilities

• Affirms problems/conditions requiring visit and accurately documents in medical records.
• Greets and screens patient for appropriate information, preparing for examination by provider.
• Affords assistance in examination, treatment and referral of patient, preparing necessary paperwork, equipment, etc.
• Initiates testing ordered by provider, to include completion of paperwork and scheduling of appointments.
• Provides injections to patients of all ages.
• Offers patient education.
• Maintains medical record entries and provides oversight of medical record content.
• Affords assistance in referral management and tracking.
• Calls in prescription information as necessary and under direction of provider.
• Maintains appropriate level of medical supplies and drugs, to include inventorying and ordering.
• Develops and maintains a useful documentation system for care that complies with legal, JCAHO and quality management requirements.
• Performs x-rays under the direction of the physician.
• Safeguards patients are charged accurately for services.
• Maintains files with referral slips and authorizations and makes appointments for consults while adhering to office scheduling policies.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Completion of Certified Medical Assistant Program or 3-4 years of experience. Completion of the CNA, or LPN preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year clinic experience in family or pediatric care setting. Phlebotomy experience preferred.
