Medical Assistant - Full Time - 1st Shift

Facility: Dayton Children's - South Campus, Department: Gastroenterology

About the role

This position performs both clinical and clerical functions in the clinic. The Medical Assistant is responsible for routine clinical skills for patient care, documentation in EPIC, patient flow, and supporting providers and other department personnel to maintain timely patient care and quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, weight, and height
• Assist with procedures as needed
• Document patient information in EPIC, ensuring all needed documentation is complete in time for the provider to dictate a note and close an encounter efficiently
• Manage patient flow and chaperoning
• Stock rooms and order tests and supplies
• Perform appropriate services delegated by the RN, nurse practitioner, or physician
• Interact with other department personnel to maintain timely patient flow and provide quality customer service

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Completion of a program in Medical Assisting is required
• CPR certification is preferred at hire but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date

Schedule

• Full time, 40 hours per week
• Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday
