Medical Assistant - Covington-Primary Care Clinic
About the role
We provide individualized, medical care of assigned patients in person, electronically and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. Our team supports the patient and provider throughout the visit, ensuring the patient and provider are prepared for the visit, and preparing the room for the next appointment. Excellent patient service is provided through effective communication both over the phone and in person. Documentation of pertinent medical information is completed appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Supports the patient and provider throughout the patient visit.
- Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit.
- Maintains positive relationships with patients and their families.
- Works effectively with fellow employees to ensure the efficient flow of patients throughout their visit, providing support to them as well as to the attending physician.
- Communicates via phone to ensure patient needs are met timely and accurately.
- Accesses company's data systems to document pertinent medical information.
Requirements
Education Required: High school diploma. Work Experience Preferred: Completion of a formal medical assistant training program. Required: Experience working with and maintaining confidential information including experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Certifications Required: Medical Assistant Certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
