Responsibilities

  • Assist with direct patient care and perform specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol.
  • Assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
  • Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration).
  • Complete patient interviews and histories.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments; explain procedures.
  • Assist with procedures as ordered by a physician, including examinations, treatments, and special tests.
  • Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
  • Collect samples such as blood, urine, and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
  • Manage and organize the medical office's inbox, ensuring timely and accurate communication with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the reception of incoming patient information and gather necessary data for healthcare providers.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:

  • A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience
  • Military Medic training
  • EMT-P (Paramedic) training
  • Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Preferences

Medical Assistant Certification: At OSUP Community Medical Group, we recognize the value of acquiring a certification in medical assisting. Certified MAs receive additional compensation for obtaining and maintaining this certificate. Not certified? Use our tuition reimbursement program to help cover the costs of certification.

Pay

USD $18.20 - USD $29.33 per hour.
