Responsibilities

• Accompanying patients to exam rooms
• Preparing patients for exams
• Performing and documenting vital signs
• Assisting with procedures
• Preparing and administering medications with physician’s authorization
• Performing EKGs
• Using CPR skills when required
• Drawing blood
• Providing patient education with regards to office policies, medication, and management of disease, home treatments, and special diets
• Stocking exam rooms
• Cleaning rooms
• Cleaning instruments
• Disposing of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards
• Performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times
• Adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 1 year of related customer facing experience
• Preferred healthcare experience
• Preferred skills and abilities: computer knowledge, interpersonal skills, accuracy, attention to detail, ability to work independently, phlebotomy skills and experience
• Licenses and Certifications: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - National Healthcareer Association, Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants, Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologist, National Certified Medical Assistant - National Center for Competency Testing
• Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association
