About the role

Quincy Community Health Center is looking for an energetic Medical Assistant to join our Medical team part-time! The Medical Assistant plays a key role in the daily provision of patient care, working directly with patients and managing the provider's daily workflow to ensure that our patients have a welcoming and productive visit. The MA manages and coordinates individual patient care as well as supporting care coordination and positive health outcomes for the patient panel. They serve as an essential liaison within the care team and between the care team and other MLCHC departments.

Responsibilities

  • Performs direct patient care responsibilities to support the medical visit and prepare patient for exam/treatment.
  • Organizes and manages the daily workflow to support the provider and the team to work smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensures that the patient's medical chart is updated, complete and accurate.
  • Performs care coordination to ensure continuity of the patient's care and follow-up.
  • Properly performs room preparation, maintenance, sterilization, and quality procedures, according to OSHA standards and clinic policy.
  • Participates proactively as a member of the Care Team.
  • Actively participates in Quality Improvement efforts.
  • Provides excellent service and support to patients and colleagues.
  • Performs phlebotomy duties (Same Day Clinic only).

Requirements

  • Job duties require specific knowledge and training in medical assisting, typically acquired during completion of a (certificate or license program) in medical assisting with a duration of up to one year.
  • Must be able to obtain Medical Assistant licensure with the State of Washington.
  • Must have obtained Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Possesses a basic level of written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills and mathematical knowledge typically acquired through completion of a high school program.
  • Ability to read and speak Spanish is required.
  • Complete annual mandatory education.
  • Travel between work sites as needed.
