About the Role
The State of New Hampshire, Department of Corrections, NH State Prison for Men is seeking a full-time Media Generalist II. This position is responsible for all phases of the day-to-day operation of the correctional system law libraries, general libraries, and two satellite libraries. The role involves close and immediate daily contact with prisoners and includes responsibility for security.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation of law libraries, general libraries, and satellite libraries within the correctional system.
- Maintain daily contact with prisoners while ensuring security protocols are followed.
- Manage processing, circulation of materials, and dissemination of information.
- Prepare instructional materials and operate specialized technological services.
Requirements
- Equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after completion of high school in library science, education, communications, or professional library/media program work.
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or management-level position.
- Valid driver’s license and access to transportation statewide.
- Certification or eligibility for certification through the NH State Department of Education’s Certification Office in Library Media.
Pay
$22.50/hour - $30.02/hour. This position receives Hazardous Duty Pay of $60 biweekly (not included in the base salary).
Schedule
7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, with Saturdays and Sundays off.
