About the role

The State of New Hampshire, NH Department of Corrections, NH State Prison for Men is seeking a full-time Media Generalist II. This position works closely with prisoners and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of correctional system law libraries, general libraries, and two satellite libraries.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all phases of the day-to-day operation of the correctional system law libraries, general libraries, and two satellite libraries.
• Work in close and immediate contact with prisoners on a daily basis.
• Have responsibility for security.

Requirements

• Equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Education and experience must be in library science, education, communications, or experience in professional library or media program work in areas such as processing, circulation of materials, dissemination of information, preparation of instructional materials, and operation and utilization of specialized technological services.
• One year of this experience must have been in a supervisory or management level position.
• Valid drivers license and access to transportation statewide.
• Must be appropriately certified, or eligible for certification through a statement of eligibility, by the NH State Department of Education's Certification Office in Library Media Services.

Qualifications

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
