Med/Surg Certified Nursing Assistant Faulkner
About the role
The Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Assistant (PCA) functions as a member of the patient care team, under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), and proficiently and consistently performs all aspects of the PCA role. Responsibilities include supporting the RN with clinical tasks such as blood glucose monitoring, completing EKGs, applying simple dressings, using aseptic technique, and responding to medical emergency situations utilizing Heartsaver CPR and AED skills. Additionally, the PCA responds to the needs of patients and family members and takes an active role in the efficient operation of the unit.
Achieving the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice is also a key responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Supports the RN with clinical tasks including blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, dressing applications, aseptic technique, and medical emergency response.
- Responds to patient and family needs, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
- Participates actively in the efficient operation of the unit.
- Ensures adherence to the Patient and Family Centered Care Model.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED certificate.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
- AHA Heartsaver, CPR and AED program completion.
- Prior PCA/CNA experience preferred.
Qualifications

Pay
$18.56 - $27.58/Hourly
Schedule
Med/Surg floor (7S). Full-time, 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, Day Position, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
