Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient clinic setting
- Works under the direction of a registered nurse or physician
- Performs basic nursing procedures
- Assists with examinations
- Administers medications
- Supports patient education to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Carries out all responsibilities in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program
Requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
Work Experience
- None required beyond completion of an accredited LPN program
Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations
- Current, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
Skills
- Knowledge of nursing principles and practices within the LPN scope of practice
- Proficiency in medication administration and clinical documentation
- Ability to measure and record vital signs accurately
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Strong observational and critical thinking skills
- Ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary care teams
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
- Strong organizational and time management skills

Work Experience
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or ambulatory care environment

- Certification in a specialty area relevant to clinic population (e.g., geriatrics, pediatrics)
