About the Role
The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living support under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and safe transfers
- Monitor and record vital signs
- Provide psycho-social support to residents
- Help with food preparation and assist with meals
- Administer prescribed medications within scope of practice
- Document care, medication administration, and resident responses
- Communicate any changes in resident condition to the charge nurse
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties
- Support wellness and recreational activities
- Participate in committees and organizational tasks
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Relevant clinical or nursing assistant experience
- Required state certifications (CNA, CMA, TMA)
- Continuing education and competency testing as mandated
Skills
- Strong communication abilities
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of proper transfer techniques
- Proficiency in medication administration
