About the role
The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, transferring, and mobility
- Record vital signs and document care outcomes
- Administer prescribed medications within scope
- Support psycho-social needs
- Assist with meals and snacks
- Participate in wellness and recreational programs
- Maintain cleanliness through housekeeping and laundry tasks
- Communicate resident condition changes to nursing staff
- Provide safe, compassionate care
- Ensure accurate medication administration
- Document resident information
- Support residents' physical and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with healthcare team members
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience advantageous
- Must complete annual competency testing and continuing education
- Hold applicable state certifications (e.g., CNA, Medication Aide)
- Valid driver’s license, if required
