About the role
The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of mechanical systems in commercial buildings. This includes ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely, and addressing any issues promptly.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal system performance.
- Respond to and resolve mechanical issues as they arise, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
- Train and supervise maintenance staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or facility management.
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Proficient in using building automation systems and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency practices and sustainable building design.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
