Major Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
- Inspect, repair, and overhaul engines/compressors, glycol reboiler unit including auxiliary equipment, emergency generator, air compressors, leaching pumps, and relief valves.
- Executes and plans preventative maintenance program for facility equipment to ensure efficient operations.
- Confers with operators and observes, tests, and evaluates operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
- Initiates requisitions for parts and equipment and maintains inventory stock, records, and housekeeping.
- Troubleshoots complex mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and fuel system issues using diagnostic tools such as CAT Electronic Technician (Cat ET).
- Determines the proper lubricating fluids for all equipment and cleans and lubricates parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Completes detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and warranty documentation via company software.
- Maintains operator qualifications for and performs required on-call functions.
- Monitors engine performance using control panels and gauges, ensures optimal operation of all assets and station equipment.
- Provides on-call support for field service emergencies and participates in on-call rotation.
Position Requirements
- Associate degree in a related field from a two-year college or technical school or combination of equivalent education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience working on high speed engines or equivalent experience.
- Experience working on Solar Turbines, CAT High Speed Engines, and Ariel Compression equipment preferred.
- Previous experience as a heavy equipment or industrial engine mechanic (typically 2-5+ years), specifically with CAT products preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for documentation.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, equipment, and practices used in the maintenance and repair of major mechanical equipment and systems.
- Knowledge in the use of general and specialized computer applications to manage information.
- Ability to read, write and interpret work-related documents, including blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to apply routine mathematical concepts to work related operations.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team members.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, contractors, and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgment regarding work methods and tools.
- Commitment to quality control and high-quality repairs.
- A safe driving record.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Travel up to 10% for training and support of remote locations.
