Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Ingot

About the Role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician provides technical troubleshooting support to maintenance and operations teams to restore product flow and serves as a technical resource for craft employees through leadership and training. The role identifies and resolves recurring design, process, and application issues; analyzes equipment and process data to identify, develop, and drive continuous improvement solutions. The position supports short- and long-term outage planning activities and assists the team with the resolution of VPM issues and items identified through the daily management action register. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician also develops, manages, and implements small capital projects, major repairs, and maintenance initiatives while providing process engineering support.

This position will require flexibility with hours, as hours are dependent on business needs. Generally, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, but will require off-shift support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Involvement with continuous improvement initiatives for equipment and manufacturing methods.
• Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting skills to restore product flow.
• Work hand in hand with craft employees.
• Act as a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing personnel.
• Interface with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve technical issues.
• Adhere to Arconic EH&S, quality, continuous improvement, and other company policies.
• Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.
• Integrated role as direct support of the Maintenance Organization.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with manufacturing processes and principles.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical systems and controls utilized in industrial applications.
• Experience designing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on rolling mill equipment (Mills, rolls, mill drive components, shears, table rolls, coilers, etc.), with aluminum, steel, or paper rolling preferred.
• Strong maintenance background.
• Technical degree or completion of an apprenticeship.
• Experience in product and process failure analysis and an understanding of world-class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, FMEA, RCM, SPC, TQM, etc.
• Experience designing, fabricating, and installing mechanical equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
