Responsibilities
- Keeping production molds in a ready to run state.
- Receiving information from the previous shift and ensuring a smooth transition.
- Troubleshooting and predicting mechanical and performance issues in our molds.
- Inspecting and analyzing critical components both old and new for defects.
- Identify and prioritize planned and unplanned work related to molds, focusing on the highest-priority tasks.
- Effectively communicate via email, radio, and comments on work orders to coordinate tasks and share critical information.
- Fabricate new hydraulic shafts and hoses as needed.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints and schematics.
- Required to work a 12-hour shift (days and nights as needed).
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to become proficient in operating cranes and forklifts.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical knowledge a plus.
- Effective communication (verbal and written).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift 64 pounds.
Desired Qualifications
- Mold Making or Injection Mold processing experience or training.
- CAD/CAM/CNC experience or training.
- Machining and/or Mechanical experience.
- Experience working with Mills and lathes.
- Previous experience troubleshooting tooling problems and repairs.
- Minimum of (3) years of hands-on technical experience with a proven work history.
- Previous manufacturing, machine shop, injection molding or plastics experience.
