Responsibilities
- Inspects assigned area projecting maintenance needs in consultation with the appropriate department heads.
- Performs all preventative maintenance for their assigned work area and coordinates work with other skilled trade areas (plumbers, electricians, etc.).
- Inspects equipment and responsible for determining equipment needs and order parts as needed.
- Supervises the support teams that perform work within assigned area.
Requirements
- EDUCATION: High school graduate.
- EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.
- SUBSTITUTE EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
- SUBSTITUTE EXPERIENCE FOR EDUCATION: Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
- SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
Minimum Requirements
May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.
Working Conditions
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
