About the Role

Lead member of a design team responsible for the design and implementation of enclosures that contain electronics for various electronic devices such as ADAS controllers, Hybrid Power Inverters, and Battery modules, with a focus on liquid cooling development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage activities for advanced development of ADAS and other automotive control modules.
  • Benchmark and optimize designs for free/forced convection architectures and liquid-cooled architectures.
  • Ensure program goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames.
  • Work closely with key customers to track and ensure on-time, accurate completion of all project deliverables.
  • Directly manage junior engineers and their workstreams to achieve team goals.
  • Maintain project timing and track deliverables to completion.

Requirements

  • Applied physics mindset with engineering activity driven by governing equations.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (3D modeling, assembly, and 2D drafting); SolidWorks preferred.
  • Understanding of FEA and CFD, with the ability to support or approve analysis.
  • Familiarity with standard automotive procedures (DFMEA, PPAP, Design Reviews, etc.).
  • Demonstrated mastery of engineering problem-solving methodology.
  • Experience leading multiple automotive projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Experience setting and managing project budgets.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE).
  • Working electrical knowledge.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing techniques (Stamping, High Pressure Die Cast, Injection Molding, Surface/Heat treatments, etc.).
  • Proficiency with PCs and MS Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience as a design engineer; automotive industry experience is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required to support project development.
