About the role

Join IMEG as a Mechanical Engineering New Graduate in Greenwood Village, CO, working closely with experienced engineers and consultants to deliver engineering solutions for the vertical building industry. In this entry-level position, you’ll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems, gaining hands-on experience with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise. You’ll support hospitality-focused MEP projects, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030. The role includes collaboration with cross-functional teams, project budget management, and exposure to fast-turn project scopes in hospitality, civic, and mixed-use developments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems using engineering software and tools to develop designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
  • Support consulting project execution as part of a project team.
  • Assist with project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
  • Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical and efficient solutions.
  • Interact with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet industry and client standards.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
  • Prioritize safety and identify/mitigate potential risks associated with mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals, client expectations, and budget requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or equivalent certification required.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts for technical plans and specifications.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics as they relate to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard engineering software and HVAC load calculation tools.
  • Basic knowledge of BIM software.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification.

A high-volume execution team specializing in repeat tenant improvement (TI) programs and prototype deployments, with secondary strengths in resort/hospitality, civic, and larger mixed-use/sports developments. The team handles national rollouts and prototype TI work for repeat brand programs, alongside hospitality projects (hotels, resorts) and Colorado-area civic, arena, utility, telecom, and mixed-use efforts. Pay

State of Colorado Pay Range: $75,000.00–$79,000.00 per year. Individual compensation is determined by job-related factors, including experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure. Additional rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.

Full-time, in-office position.
