About the role
This entry-level role in Greenwood Village, CO offers hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience for electrical systems in buildings. You’ll support projects from planning through documentation, collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, and help deliver work that meets project budgets, goals, and client expectations. You’ll contribute to hospitality and broader MEP projects, including fast-turn scopes, repeat programs, and resort/mixed-use work, while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems for buildings, creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
- Assist with engineering analysis and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings.
- Gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively with clients.
- Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
- Support consulting projects as part of a project team, helping keep work aligned with project budgets, goals, and client expectations.
- Assist with project planning and scheduling tasks to help meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
- Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
- Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
- Prioritize safety, identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required.
- Engineering in Training (EIT) or equivalent required.
Skills
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
- Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings.
- Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry.
- Engineering in Training (EIT) License.

High-volume execution team for repeat tenant improvement (TI) programs and prototype deployment, with secondary strength in resort/hospitality, civic, and larger mixed-use/sports developments. The team handles national rollout and prototype TI work, repeat assignments for brands like Edward Jones, The UPS Store, DoorDash, T-Mobile, NVI/America’s Best, and similar accounts, alongside hotel, resort, and hospitality projects. Pay
State of Colorado Salary Range: $76,000.00–$80,000.00 per year. The range represents base pay IMEG reasonably expects to pay for this position in Greenwood Village, CO. Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
