Mechanical Engineer- Energy

About the role

LaBella's Energy team provides comprehensive energy efficiency and renewable energy consultancy, including feasibility analyses, design, and commissioning services. Our engineers are well-versed in all aspects of building and energy systems design relating to a variety of new construction, renovations, and design/build projects for diverse clientele. The Mechanical Engineer will work in a lead role on decarbonization/electrification projects, developing them from feasibility stages through design and construction.

A successful candidate will collaborate effectively within a team, mentor junior engineers, and communicate clearly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of building HVAC systems and district energy systems
• Conduct field investigations to document existing conditions
• Perform selection and calculations for design purposes
• Work with junior engineers to develop and review project drawings and documentation
• Interact directly with clients by analyzing design options, conducting cost-benefit comparisons, and communicating results to assist in decision-making
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements

Requirements

• 4-8 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Well-rounded experience in HVAC and hydronic system design
• Experience designing geothermal or district energy systems (preferred)
• Proficiency with Revit or AutoCAD
• New York State Professional Engineer's license (a plus)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay

$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
