Mechanical Engineer - EI

About the role

This Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs in support of various Buildings projects. Specific responsibilities include:

• Building HVAC system(s)
• Building plumbing system(s)
• Building fire protection system(s)
• Building whole building energy modeling
• Building sustainability requirements reporting

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

• Coordination with other support disciplines
• Coordination with regional offices
• Aiding project managers in project management
• Following quality assurance and quality control plans

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET accredited university or college
• Minimum of 3 years of building design and construction industry experience
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principals related to building mechanical designs
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with Autodesk Revit
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite
• Past the Fundamentals of Engineering exam

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD
• Experience with Carrier HAP or similar HVAC load analysis program
• Experience with AIA MasterSpec

Schedule

Periodic travel to project sites will be required.

• Ability to keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting
• Ability to follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans
• Ability to engage in continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the team

Skills

• Knowledge of mechanical engineering and sustainability principles
• Utilizing BIM design software to produce construction drawings
• Utilizing Microsoft Excel based calculation tools for design calculations
