Responsibilities
• Design mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into the building design.
• Conduct load calculations and energy efficiency assessments to optimize system performance and to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Review and analyze project requirements, proposals, and technical reports.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of mechanical systems on-site, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
• Stay current with industry trends, technology, and regulations to ensure innovative and sustainable design solutions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical emphasis. With an accredited ABET program.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or the ability to pass FE exam within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design within the construction industry.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Word.
• Experience with HVAC load design software a plus.
• Working knowledge of building, energy, mechanical, and plumbing codes.

Pay
$57,000 - $65,000; DOE
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
