Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary
Solas O'Brien is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a co-located design team in Nashville, Tennessee, supporting the development of a net-zero corporate headquarters for a leading technology company. This role offers the opportunity to work with architects, engineers, and design professionals in a collaborative, innovative, and sustainable environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop the HVAC systems design of a given project based on scope of work and/or client RFPs.
- Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for healthcare, science and technology, education, multi-family, and commercial projects.
- Cookinate design with owner requirements, architectural design, and other specialty consultants.
- Perform load/energy calculations with software such as Trane 3D Plus and IES.
- Develop reports/studies.
- Write/edit project specifications.
- Provide construction administration services.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is beneficial.
- An LEED or similar sustainable design certification/experience.
- 3 - 5 years of design experience (required).
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit (required).
- Knowledgeable in the design of HVAC systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of codes, standards, and design guidelines.
- Experience working with a multi-discipline design team.
- Excellent work ethic and attitude.
