Responsibilities
- Aid in leading, designing, building, and troubleshooting plant expansion activities
- Support large scale heating and cooling systems
- Assist with high vacuum systems
- Provide expertise for filtration systems
- Help develop helium leak detection equipment
- Contribute to composite parts and assemblies
- Maintain machined parts and assemblies
- Participate in design and analysis of structural and dynamic systems
- Design manufacturing equipment as needed for production
- Create, review, and approve engineering packages for fabrication
- Establish procedures for assembly and repair of fabricated components
- Drive process improvement initiatives for both internal and external suppliers
- Manage multiple priorities and ensure timely delivery of projects within budget
- Comply with company policies and procedures regarding safety, ethics, security, and environmental programs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, manufacturing, operations, testing, quality, and purchasing
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, or Aerospace Engineering
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience
- Possession of an active DOE Q-level or DOD TS security clearance preferred
- Experience with project management
- Experience with lean manufacturing
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred
- Experience with parametric 3D modeling tools such as CREO or SolidWorks
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Experience with QL-1 or QL-2 quality parts/systems
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and engineering practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
