About the role
Consider joining the Pennex family as a Mechanical Engineer in our Leetonia, OH location. This position directs activities of workers engaged in operation of machines, tools, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates, plans and directs major capital projects associated with Fabrication activities.
- Serves as liaison between production, maintenance and contract personnel for installation and start-up of fabrication equipment and / or process projects.
- Supports robotic activities; implementation, programming and cell integration efforts.
- Participates in training, run at rate confirmation and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) run off.
- Assists in development of preventive maintenance programs for fabrication equipment in conjunction with operations and maintenance staff.
- Supports cell supervision, material planning and production scheduling.
- Supports Advanced Product Quality Planning Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Part Control Plans (GP-12), Early Production Validation Plan (EPVP).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) in a mechanical discipline from four-year college or university.
- Five or more years of related engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ten years of related engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong analytical skills.
- Machine design preferred.
- 3D CAD modeling and relevant analysis preferred.
- Experience using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Excellent problem-solving skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
