Mechanical Engineer
About the role
The individual will be responsible for designing mechanical systems for highly integrated facilities. They will perform load calculations, static pressure calculations, pump head calculations, and energy analysis. They will develop mechanical specifications, 3D BIM modeling of systems, and mechanical equipment schedules. The applicant will work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects. Position may include field investigation and mechanical inspection for projects.
Responsibilities
- Designing mechanical systems for highly integrated facilities.
- Perform load calculations, static pressure calculations, pump head calculations, and energy analysis.
- Develop mechanical specifications, 3D BIM modeling of systems, and mechanical equipment schedules.
- Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
- Perform field investigation and mechanical inspection for projects.
- Collaborate with the team to complete mechanical system designs for more complex projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience with mechanical system design.
- High verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with BIM/Revit.
- Experience and/or interest in numerous Architectural Engineering market sectors, including Healthcare, Education, - Science and Technology, Industrial/Water/Wastewater, etc.
- Strong engineering software skills (Trane TRACE or similar, and equipment selection software).
- Ability to coordinate work with others; self-directed learner, having good communication, written, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Attention to accuracy, detail-oriented, meeting deadlines, and multi-tasking are also required.
- Willingness to assist in mentoring EITs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings.
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
- Experience in commercial or institutional facilities.
- Computer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software.
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
Skills
- Interest in sustainable design is a must.
- Strong engineering software skills (Trane TRACE or similar, and equipment selection software).
- Ability to coordinate work with others; self-directed learner, having good communication, written, analytical, and organizational skills.

Pay
Salary range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
