About the role

Cleaver Brooks is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Monroe, WI. This position is responsible for designing and developing burner and boiler-related equipment, utilizing CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD and Inventor.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze testing results, operations data, and other issues to identify root causes and recommend solutions to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
  • Communicate technical issues concerning component production and operations to management and clarify field issues with operations personnel.
  • Translate technical guidance from senior engineers or engineering management into useable engineering data applicable to assigned products and communicate this information to other internal departments as needed.
  • Design and build complex pieces of equipment and machinery, often developing innovative approaches and solutions to projects and issues.
  • Initiate or direct changes to products, procedures, or specifications as directed by senior engineers or engineering management and make recommendations as necessary.
  • Work across departments within the organization and establish relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Apply basic engineering concepts and mechanical processes to the design of new devices and visualize basic engineering concepts and mechanical processes more easily.
  • Identify issues, analyze data and other relevant information, and develop solutions to problems while minimizing the impact on project budgets, timelines, production, or operational capabilities.
  • Occasionally/regularly work in a normal office, design/drafting environment, and may require exposure to production plant environments with welding, machining, and fabrication operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • One year of experience in product engineering preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Combustion/burner experience highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to analyze testing results, operations data, and other issues, identifying the root cause of the issue and recommending solutions to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate issues concerning component production and operations to management, clarify field issues with operations personnel, and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to translate technical guidance from senior engineers or engineering management into useable engineering data applicable to assigned products and communicate this information to other internal departments as required.
  • Ability to design and build complex pieces of equipment and machinery, often developing innovative approaches and solutions to projects and issues.
  • Experience working across departments within the organization and establishing relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Basic understanding of calculus, trigonometry, and other advanced topics in mathematics for analysis, design, and troubleshooting in their work.
  • Physical skill and effort limited to infrequent manual dexterity and occasional physical effort.
