Mechanical Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of critical utility systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment. This role is focused on designing, analyzing, and optimizing systems such as water distribution, cooling towers, steam and condensate, and drainage.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical designs for utility systems, including:
- Water systems (distribution and cooling towers)
- Steam and condensate systems
- Drainage systems
- Perform pump sizing and hydraulic calculations to support system design
- Select and specify equipment such as:
- Pumps
- Valves
- Heat exchangers
- Produce, review, and update engineering drawings using AutoCAD
- Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers and cross-functional teams on plant layouts and facility designs
- Support work in piping-intensive environments using:
- Plant 3D
- Revit
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or utility systems environment
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid flow, and hydraulics
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience working with Mechanical Engineers on plant layouts and facility design
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Nice to Have (Plus):
- Experience with Plant 3D and/or Revit
- Experience in piping-heavy or utility system environments
- Exposure to facility design and equipment layout optimization
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
