Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a team responsible for developing, deploying, and supporting a range of electronic and mechanical hardware training products used within the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP). These trainers are utilized by Navy sailors for classroom and hands-on training to reinforce engineering and equipment operation fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Product life-cycle support for existing training products
• Planning, specification/design, procurement/fabrication, testing, and installation of future training products
• Frequent interaction with government, contractor, Navy personnel, and vendors to define and support training products

Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, or science field
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, or science field (preferred)

Pay Range

$63,900.00 - $97,800.00 annually

Qualifications

Nearshore, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory operates four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations.
