Mechanical Engineer, Entry Level

About the role
As an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer at DLR Group, you will participate in the design process of mechanical building systems from schematics through construction administration, preparing detailed mechanical engineering drawings and performing design calculations. As part of our integrated design teams, you will create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home. This role could be based in Dallas, TX, Houston, TX, or Fort Worth, TX.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
- Develop mechanical designs from concept through completion of construction.
- Prepare engineering design calculations and layouts.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
- Coordinate mechanical design requirements with architecture, structure, and other disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (ABET accredited) in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship, co-op experience, or full-time position with a consulting engineering or A/E firm.
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
- Experience with BIM (e.g., Autodesk Revit MEP) workflow.
- Experience and interest in sustainable building design.

DLR Group follows a four-day in-office work model, with employees having the flexibility to work somewhere other than the office on Fridays.
