About the role
Reporting to the Head of Product Development of Components/Cable Assemblies, you will drive mechanical design and process engineering initiatives, ensuring compliance with quality management systems and legal requirements. This role involves strong collaboration with Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Sales, and Finance teams, as well as representing the organization at customer or supplier meetings (travel up to 10% annually).
Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation and implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and process engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Drive mechanical design and process engineering initiatives under the direction of the Head of Product Development of Components/Cable Assemblies.
- Provide necessary tools and methods, measure performance based on KPIs, and continuously improve product and process levels.
- Implement and maintain AS9100 and ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems within mechanical design and process engineering functions.
- Ensure full compliance with legal, business, and safety requirements, collaborating with legal advisors as needed.
- Adhere to all regulations and guidelines contained within the Global Management System.
- Actively participate in weekly Product Development and Staff Review Meetings with Product Management and R&D Group.
- Implement all management directives from the Head of Product Development of Components/Cable Assemblies.
- Provide technical support to the connector product and process engineering teams.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment with cross-functional departments.
- Represent the organization at customer or supplier meetings as required.
- Provide contract review, mechanical engineering, and application/process engineering support for all H+S products.
- Ensure timely and accurate flow of documentation to support the H+S Customer Support Team.
- Perform all other relevant duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of manufacturing or aerospace experience.
- Working knowledge of rectangular and geometric tolerancing (per ANSI Y-14.5).
- Mastery of military and commercial specifications and requirements.
- Proficiency in CATIA v5, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD LT.
- Strong communication skills for both internal and external audiences.
- Attention to detail and engineering control methods.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel in a fast-paced, sales-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills.
- Acute customer focus and cultural awareness.

Pay
$75,000 - $85,000 annually.
