Mechanical Draftsman/Sr. Draftsman

Mechanical Draftsman Job Description

There is presently a great need for a highly-motivated Mechanical Draftsman with the ability to produce design deliverables from design sketches, layouts and/or concepts to support manufacture, assembly and test.

• Desire to develop skills through on-the-job experience and continued education to advance in the design profession.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or Vocational High School diploma
• 2-6 years of design experience
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints drawings
• Demonstrated proficiency in drafting (portfolio) with Computer Aided Design (CAD) is required (NX preferred)

Preferred

• Two year Technical School/College Experience
• Experience with mechanical systems
• Experience with CATIA and/or NX
• Experience in Design for Six Sigma, Lean Design/Manufacturing

Skills

• Willingness to work in a collaborative and team environment
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Strong computer skills and excellent interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft products
• Ability to perform design related math functions
• Ability to read and interpret written instructions and drawings (blueprints)
• Firm understanding of Design Standards, Manufacturing Processes and Military Specifications including GD&T
