Exciting news! We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering Department.

Working Schedule

Monday - Friday | 8AM - 5PM

Pay

$66,490 - $74,672

Responsibilities

  • Designs mechanical systems for environmental test chambers.
  • Designs sheet metal parts, builds assemblies, and creates associated drawings using engineering best practices.
  • Designs and releases a basic custom modification to a standard ENA chamber model.
  • Understands Bill of Material structures and basic ERP function.
  • Understands and uses the ENA problem-solving process.
  • Follows engineering group procedures and ISO standards.
  • Understands design for manufacturing & assembly, within the limitations of our manufacturing facility.
  • Works under supervision.
  • Regular, physical attendance is required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering or current enrollment in an Engineering degree program required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the production shop.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with Inventor/Autocad in the following areas:
    • Making changes (model/drawing) to an existing part
    • Basic parts modeling
    • Basic assembly models
    • Basic Sheet metal parts
    • Create flats
    • Sheet metal drawings
    • Part drawings
    • Assembly drawings
    • Concept Drawings

Physical Demands

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment

  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts (while out in the production shop).
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
