Mechanical Design Engineer
Applies engineering physics, mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, or maintenance of aero-thermal and mechanical systems. May develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of complex and challenging problems. Works independently with guidance and actively contributes to an integrated design team.
Responsibilities
- Create and release engineering drawings
- Use structured hardware development processes
- Apply knowledge of 3D CAD design software and ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in an engineering design role
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience interpreting, creating, and using engineering drawings
- Experience conducting thermal or structural analysis
- Experience using ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
- Experience conducting or interpreting aerothermal analysis
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering tools
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles
- Master's degree in a relevant field

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.
Schedule
This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:
- Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer sites as needed.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.
