About the role

We are seeking Mechanical Design Engineers to join our Central Design Office (İvedik) within the Defense and Aerospace Directorate, specializing in Power Transmission Systems, Powertrain, and Driveline Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Take mechanical design responsibility for ongoing projects
  • Actively collaborate with systems, hardware, analysis, and industrial design teams to develop mechanical solutions
  • Make and adhere to long-term plans for related projects
  • Prepare technical documentation (models, BOMs, drawings, reports, etc.) required by projects
  • Conduct supplier research for prototype manufacturing, manage and monitor production processes
  • Design production and control fixtures when needed and conduct integration efforts
  • Conduct hardware-level test activities and ensure verification of prototypes
  • Design fixtures and lifetime test systems as needed for testing purposes
  • Participate in lab and field tests and take necessary responsibilities
  • Work actively with manufacturing engineers to establish production processes
  • Contribute to mold production and commissioning as needed during production
  • Address feedback within manufacturability analyses and revise mechanical designs accordingly
  • Collaborate with various disciplines throughout the product lifecycle

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in precision mechanical systems, complex mechanisms, power transmission systems, transfer case and reducer designs, and various gear mechanisms
  • Proficient in CAD software (preferably Inventor, Catia)
  • Experienced in using PLM software
  • Knowledge of FEM, able to interpret and guide outputs
  • Familiar with design methodologies for Cost (DfC), Assembly (DfA), Manufacturing (DfM), Safety (DfS), and Maintenance (DfM)
  • Solid knowledge of machine elements, fluid mechanics, engine and sensor technologies, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Proficient in basic manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal forming, welding, etc.), knowledgeable about new generation manufacturing technologies
  • Preferably experienced in at least one of the following: casting, modeling, extrusion, injection, plastic forming, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in raw materials such as metals, composites, and plastics
  • Experienced in coating and painting processes
  • Preferably experienced in reading CMM reports
  • Familiar with standards such as EN 60601, EN 1789, ISO 13485, IP
  • Proficient in technical drawing standards and ASME Y14.5 GD&T
  • Knowledge of Reliability Analyses such as FMEA, FTA, MTBF, MTTR
  • Capable of writing and presenting technical reports effectively
  • Experience in creating product catalogs
  • Knowledgeable about defense industry standards and able to interpret related standards
