Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform as a staff advisor and consultant on technical specialties, equipment, or program functions.
• Achieve all assigned project tasks and objectives within established strategies, ensuring functionality and meeting specifications.
• Ensure project tasks assigned to others are completed within budget, schedule, and priority.
• Conduct engineering design reviews to ensure fit, function, and accuracy.
• Recommend changes in methods and procedures to improve project completion or engineering processes.
• Keep leaders informed on the status of assigned projects with timely updates and alternate plan suggestions.
• Follow up with other departments on project tasks to ensure critical items are completed within needed timelines.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of machine design experience
• 1+ year of Solidworks experience
• Experience with sheet metal design
• Background in manufacturing of parts
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Associates with relevant experience considered)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Solidworks
• Experience in mechanical engineering and mechanical design
• Knowledge of sheet metal and machine design
• Experience in equipment design, new product development, R&D engineering
• Familiarity with a manufacturing environment and tooling

Work Environment

This position is entirely desk-based, focusing on design work for new machines within an R&D setting. Work is conducted 100% on-site at the Covington, KY location, with flexible hours within standard business hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a 6 month contract position based out of Ft Mitchell, Kentucky.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85,000.00 - $120,000.00/hr.
