Mechanical Design Engineer - Chassis

About the role

We are seeking a qualified technical leader to oversee a Powersports design function, guiding engineering output, supervising team activities, and ensuring high-quality specifications and development results. This role involves integrating technical expertise with organizational leadership to meet business goals, improve product development, and maintain global quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Review design specifications
• Lead problem-solving for development and production issues
• Supervise design teams across multiple projects
• Allocate resources
• Coach team members
• Facilitate communication across departments
• Represent the team with management and suppliers
• Drive process improvements and promote best practices
• Lead hiring and performance evaluations
• Support goal setting aligned with business objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years in related fields (preferably Powersports or Automotive)
• 2+ years in supervisory roles

Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with CAD, FTA, FMEA, and product development tools
• Ability to resolve conflicts and handle confidential information

Working conditions

• Occasional travel
• Primarily desk work with some physical hazards typical of office/shop environments
• Overtime based on project needs
• Adherence to safety and company policies is essential
