Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop custom plastic extrusion machinery and systems.
- Assist Project Manager in ensuring timely release of mechanical documentation to meet project schedules and budgets.
- Identify new technologies and market segments; develop competitive programs and machine features to increase market share and meet customer demands.
- Create conceptual designs and perform analyses to ensure compliance with project specifications, providing system-focused solutions.
- Participate in design reviews with stakeholders including Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Field Service, providing technical oversight throughout the design process.
- Develop detailed drawings, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and BOMs necessary for procurement, manufacturing, and assembly of components.
- Cook up with vendors, consultants, and engineering teams to deliver engineering design/analysis services, offering solutions to technical challenges.
- Support the creation of assembly, installation, operation, and maintenance manuals in collaboration with the Technical Documentation Department and Product Managers.
- Provide technical support during procurement, assembly, testing, and final acceptance phases of equipment.
- Assist customer service technicians and spare parts department post-shipment as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of project and organizational goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 3-5 years of machinery design experience, preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong foundation in designing and testing electromechanical systems with practical application experience.
- Knowledge of electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic drives, and actuators (highly desirable).
- Knowledge of plastics process technology (desirable but not required).
- Proficiency with CAD software: 3D solid modeling (Creo preferred), AutoCAD, and FEA analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills, including proficiency with Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
