Design Engineer

What You Will Do

• Design structural systems for a variety of construction types, in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, distribution, data centers, commercial, industrial and parking.
• Work directly with Project Manager/Engineer of Record in the development of project design, calculations, and developing assessment reports.
• Perform analysis of existing structures.
• Create drawings or specifications for use during construction and ensure all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations.
• Affords assistance in project coordination and meetings with the internal and external team members.
• Reviews project submittals and shop drawings.
• Visits projects during construction to learn construction practices and to provide on-site construction observation.
• Organize field data to facilitate analysis and problem solving.
• Interacts with higher level engineers and design technicians.
• Attends client, architect, and contractor meetings.
• Learns to engage with potential clients to expand business relationships.
• Performs calculations per design specifications and industry standards.
• Utilizes Structural Design Software, such as RAM Structural Systems, ETBAS, SAFE, SAP, RAM Elements, and TEKLAS.
• Shares information across all disciplines to confirm deliverables are compliant with client expectations and established quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with 1-3 years of related experience or Master’s in Civil Engineering.
• Proficient knowledge and experience using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• IT preferred.

• Strong communication skills are required.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities presented.
• Effective in an entrepreneurial culture, working independently and as part of a team.
