Mechanical Design Engineer
About the role
Support the creation and modification of 3D part and assembly models in collaboration with mechanical and manufacturing engineers. Generate and update detailed 2D drawings based on 3D models to ensure clarity and precision. Assist in executing Engineering Changes (ECO) for energy solutions and Nuvera products, ensuring compliance and quality standards. Review drawings and structured BOMs in partnership with senior designers and engineers to meet project goals. Support sustainment activities for existing products and prototypes, incorporating practical shop-floor feedback into designs.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SolidWorks sheet metal and weldment suites for CAD modeling.
- Advanced knowledge of ASME Y14-2018 and AWS A2.4: 2020 standards.
- Ability to apply best practices in GD&T and perform tolerance stack analysis, beam bending, and buckling analysis.
- Experience with FEA and simulation software for load and modal analysis, with SolidWorks simulation being a plus.
- Experience working with PLM systems and creating detailed engineering documentation.
