About the Role
This position will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and integration of complex systems for our customers. The role involves working with a growing, multi-disciplinary team of engineers from several companies in Crane, Indiana, and encompasses mechanical design, including design for manufacturing, integration, and flight, as well as development and review of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) drawings.
The ideal candidate will have experience in engineering tasks related to concept development, design, fabrication, integration, testing, and prototyping hardware. The role requires comfort interacting with multiple stakeholders, including government customers and other contractors.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop prototype hardware.
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Design for manufacturing methods, including milling and turning operations.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on system integration and flight design.
- Interact with government customers and other contractors.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or similar STEM discipline).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Familiarity with AS9100 processes.
- Experience generating Technical Data Packages (TDP).
- Ability to interpret results from CFD and FEA analysis tools to inform design.
- Experience with aerospace hardware.
- Experience with CNC machinery.
