Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Avery Dennison Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Engineering Technology group in Azusa, CA. The Engineering Technology group develops, optimizes, and implements proprietary process technologies and equipment for manufacturing plants worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems, focusing on tight tolerance machine design and high-speed manufacturing systems.
• Support global projects requiring both mechanical design and process expertise.
• Inspect, install, and commission proprietary equipment in manufacturing facilities worldwide.
• Cook up and manage resources, including external vendors and Avery Dennison divisional personnel, to ensure equipment and processes meet all requirements and specifications.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications

• 0 - 9+ years of relevant engineering industry experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
• A Master's Degree is a plus.
• Must possess good mechanical design skills and process technology understanding.
• Capable of taking a project from concept design through commercialization.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.
• Good drafting skills; familiar with GD&T, ASME Y14.5 Standards.
• Knowledge and experience in Finite Element Modeling for structural, heat transfer, and fluid flow analyses is a plus.
• Ability to work hands-on with equipment, machines, and inspection devices.
• Proven analytical mindset for overcoming engineering challenges and problems.
• Willing and able to travel within the US and internationally.
• Good organizational and planning skills; ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.

Additional Information

The salary range for this position is $91,350 - $136,416/year. The hiring [base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
