Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

This role focuses on component modification ownership, manufacturing support, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver cost-effective hardware solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design ownership for component modifications, including sourcing and supplier quote reviews for proposed cost-reduction changes
• Development of cost Pareto models using a priori or similar tools
• Mechanical design of hardware, model/drawing definition, creation of PLM BoMs, and change instructions
• Hardware procurement, manufacturing, and assembly support
• Collaboration with PDE drafting, sourcing, AME manufacturing, aero engineers, heat transfer, MPE materials, repair engineering, and value engineering teams
• Direct interface with client suppliers to review cost-reduction ideas, cost impact, and manufacturability limits
• Manufacturing support including shop interface for dispositioning non-conformances, process supplier qualifications, SDR reviews, and follow-up of modified parts into final assembly and fleet launch

Pay

$51.50 per hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law.
