Mechanical Design Engineer

Contract-to-hire opportunity for a Mechanical Packaging Engineer to support engineering design and analysis for packaging flight electronics, with a focus on mechanical packaging design at both the box and connector/harness levels.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical packaging for flight electronics.
• Develop packaging solutions at the box and connector/harness levels.
• Understand and apply environmental requirements (thermal, shock, vibration, etc.).
• Collaborate with analysts to validate mechanical packaging designs.
• Support mechanical design engineering from concept through CAD design and prototype production.

Requirements

• 5-15 years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace electronics packaging or housing.
• Experience with R&D and prototype packaging or housing (space flight electronics packaging preferred; military/defense, LRUs, or avionics housing design for drones/autonomous vehicles acceptable).
• Proficiency in mechanical packaging, design engineering, and avionics design.
• Experience with space flight hardware, harness design, thermal analysis, and vibration analysis.
• Proficiency in Unigraphics NX and CAD design.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00 per hour. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
