Mechanical Contracting Project Manager & Estimator
SUMMARY
The Project Manager/Estimator coordinates proposals and bids and oversees the execution of Retrofit projects in his/her portfolio. Retrofit projects range from $500 to $1.5 million and can include simple VA box additions to 1000 ton water-cooled chillers and tower replacements. This position will also provide construction management services for Brady’s longer projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with the sales team and engineering to evaluate retrofit and replacement projects and develop turnkey solutions
Turn concepts, rough or detailed drawings into detailed estimates
Aid in the sale as needed
Manage the operation and installation practices associated with steam, water, and air systems
Understand basic control sequences and system operation
Execute all pre-planning details including, but not limited to, preparation of bill of materials and pre-ordering of materials and equipment needed to complete the project
Continuously communicate with the construction supervisor and job foreman to coordinate manpower, material and subcontractor needs
Support Field foreman by ensuring he/she is properly prepared to complete project successfully
Overall responsibility for project fulfillment and safety oversight
Develop and manage a budget based on the estimate and site conditions

Notify Manager or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s Degree in Construction or Project Management preferred; minimum 5 years of experience managing construction projects; 2 years of experience of working in the HVAC industry or mechanical piping industry required.
Basic AutoCAD knowledge; Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and Dynamics; Working knowledge in estimating software
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license, Mechanical H1, H2, and H3 licenses preferred; Construction or project management certification preferred
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, and equipment specifications. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and other service personnel.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
