About the role
As a Mechanical Assembler, you will report to the Assembly Supervisor of the Prepared Foods Division at our Kingston Facility. This hands-on role involves assembling mechanical and fabricated components into high-quality products while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in producing quality equipment, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical units, fabricated parts, and electrical/electronic systems into subassemblies and finished products.
- Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, jigs, and other production equipment safely and effectively.
- Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust components to meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Perform self-inspections and functional testing to verify products meet quality requirements prior to shipment.
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and work with supervisors and engineering to resolve production concerns.
- Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and manufacturing schedules to complete work accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies.
- Communicate production issues, quality concerns, and improvement ideas to supervisors and team members.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support a positive team environment.
- Comply with all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, or assembly drawings.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Manual dexterity required to handle tools and assemble components.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Pay
The estimated hourly salary range for this role is $19.00 - $25.00. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
